No he’s not. No such country exists. He might be American with African ancestry. Or he could be African with American ancestry.

The label African-American might properly be applied to an African immigrant who has become an American citizen, but that’s about it.

As for generational labels, I’m an old f@rt. Easy, no?

And yet we have no qualms with people labelling themselves as Italian-American or Irish-American. Hmmm…

You need to correct your punctuation in the first panel … it should read, “If you’re in your early 30s…”

The apostrophe is correct the first time (which is a contraction of “you” and “are”) but not the second time, which is not a contraction, but possessive adjective modifying “early 30s.”

Please don’t add to the miseducation of our children through sloppy attention to details like these.

I do have problems with people calling themselves “blank” Americans. We need to be just AMERICANS again. That way there is no more separation of people anymore. IF the ethnic part must be said, then it should be American of “blank” decent. Period. After all, the USA is suppose to be a melting pot. We can’t be a melting pot if something comes before American.
