Didn’t the Animaniacs do something like this?

Reminds me of an old Warner Brothers cartoon… but in reverse … with two mice based on Abbot and Costello.

Their names were Babbit and Catsello. I couldn’t find the space one, but here’s their initial appearance.

    ”A Tale of Two Kitties”

6 Minutes 43 Seconds (They were not one of Warner Brothers better creations, in my opinion. Note the introduction too, of the as yet unnamed “Tweety.”

“It’s a great big Universe, and we’re just really puny, We’re just tiny little specks about the size of Mickey Rooney…”

    The Simpsons did something similar.

No, the one I had definitely had two mice… it started from space, moving in, until you saw a fat mouse, who says, ‘Bout time you got here.’
They fight a cat… at one point, the Abbot mouse hypnotizes the Costello one into thinking he’s a dog, he’d attack the cat.. .the cat would reverse the hypnosis, the mouse would run, ‘Hey Abbot,’… and so on.
Definitely not the same cartoon… I’d never heard of the cat one.

Yep, there were versions with cat and mice. There may have even been more than one Babbitt and Castello mice cartoons. One, as you say, involved hypnotism and the other involved Castello getting some cheese for Babbitt. It turns out that it’s the wrong type of cheese, and Castello ends up cramming the cheese into Babbitt’s mouth.

A massive pull back to show the big picture.

Did some checking. You’re thinking of “The Mouse-Merized Cat” from 1946. And the other cartoon with the mice is – “A Tale of Two Mice” from 1945.

Thanks for that!! Here it is.

    ”The Mouse-merized Cat”

    6 Minutes 9 Seconds

I still say they aren’t one of Warner Brothers better creations.

Sure it wasn’t “A Tale of Two Kitties”?
