Funny how a lie gets around.
    .
The random monitoring stuff has NO authorization from anywhere. It’s completely illegal. The Patriot Act dealt with individuals and required a court order. The court orders for several individuals calling known terrorists in Iraq from this country is an example of its use. Indeed, much of the reason for the Act was to stop the random monitoring of political “enemies” that Clinton was doing.

First verse and chorus: “Dream Police”

    Author : Rick Nielsen

The dream police, they live inside of my head.
The dream police, they come to me in my bed.
The dream police, they’re coming to arrest me, oh no.

You know that talk is cheap, and those rumors ain’t nice.
And when I fall asleep I don’t think I’ll survive the night, the night.

    ‘Cause they’re waiting for me.
    They’re looking for me.
Ev’ry single night they’re driving me insane.
    Those men inside my brain.

Maybe we should be buying stock in tin-foil companies.

There used to be a feature in Heavy Metal called The Dream Police… about police officers who could arrest you for having lewd thoughts.
These days… we have the PC Police.

The Patriot Act was authorized in 2001, in response to the World Trade Center Bombing, by President Bush. Facts. They’re not just for breakfast anymore.

As a librarian, per the so-called “Patriot Act”, I could be sent to prison for not releasing someone’s check-out history on demand. And a person’s check-out history can be searched for any reason the feds can dream up. I would be willing to risk it, though, as we have a privacy policy: what a person checks out is their business only. I don’t think you would like me to roll over for the feds for you, would you?
