I’m glad that I have nothing to do with Facebook.
It’s been trouble from the start.
Happy New Year, Pab.

What the heck kind of computer doer her Maj own?
Is that a Coleco, or a Commodore 64, or something like that??

It’s what we used to call a TRaSh-80. 386K for all your computing needs. And a tape drive that usually finished loading shortly after you came back from work…
…
Ah, how far we’ve come. Now we’re lucky if we came home and Win7 hasn’t crashed.

those were the days. data stored on tape drives, modems that went at 128 bits/sec, 5 1/4" floppies, 3 1/2" floppies. hdd that had 1 Megabyte of storage, 64 colors. pc speaker sound, no mouse. no gui interface(all command line). 64k of memory. and, crt monitors that weigh over 200 pounds for a 15". no f1-f12 keys. laptops were built like luggage that one would use to emigrate to a foreign land.

Typed my dissertation on a TRS80 model III using Superscripset and a Tandy daisy wheel printer. Those were the days.

How long did it take to build up the steam pressure in the boiler on that beast? And, was it wood fired, or did it burn coal??

In those days a mouse was a power source.

This is taking “friending” to a disturbing new level.

Well, he was in the process of adopting a Russian kid, but that fell through, so, like, any port in a storm…

As I recall, it burned coal, but it didn’t catch fire too much. :-)
