    The only way to eat plum pud is to nuke it.

    @Linguist

    Well, that’s one way of cooking it (and the rest of the country).
    What is it with nukes today ? … Lio has one, too.

    Is this, then, a case of pounding the royal (plum) pud?

    We only have 54 decorated trees in the White House.
    And in every store and mall with crappy music.
    Nothing would ever make the warriors happy.

    Just what the hell is plum pudding?

    I’ve heard idle chatter about it all my life but have never seen a Jello Plum Pudding mix in the grocery store.

    I know the Brits are a bit wacky, but why wouldn’t they just use prunes instead?

    A fruitcake would have survived the blast.

    (I feel so ashamed! For years I have defended fruitcakes from the slings and arrows of cartoonists, but I couldn’t help myself!)

    I was on a kibbutz in Israel on Christmas, 1977, and another volunteer made plum pudding with white sauce.
    It was delicious!

    See Julia Child’s recipe here. (It’s six hours and twenty minutes to make.)

    I feel your joy. I try to cut down on it because I can go through two pounds in 24 hours. But humanity does seem to be divided between those who love it and those who hate it. Have a joyous winter celebration of your choice.
