Sometimes even royalty should avoid Rupert Murdock !

We have begun a new tradition. “The War on the War on Christmas.”
We shall name as our arch nemesis … Stupert Murdock.

@Linguist
Actually, anyone with an I.Q. higher then room temperature should avoid Rupert Murdock, and ANY of his so-called “News Organizations”!

This is not a happy time of year for us pro-capitalist, limited-government, Constitution-adhering atheists. For politics and economics I find Fox News the most reliable network (no matter what @masterskain thinks, assuming that’s what he does), but it drives me up the wall when they start the war-on-Xmas religious-nut stuff. Not only should we separate Church and State, but we should separate Religion and the GOP. What’s the point of trying to oppose the Left when you agree with the Left’s ethics which is just Christian ethics minus God?

They should relaxx and enjoy their Holiday Tree.

I don’t get ticked off about many things, but people who are so offended by a Christmas tree that they can’t call it a Christmas tree are near the top of my list.

I’m the last 1 to defend faux news but calling a Christmas tree a holiday tree sounds very strange. People who get their knickers in a knot & try to ban a manger scene or anything to with Jesus’ birth need to take a chill pill.

I just really hate the commercialization of Christmas. I mean, for crying out loud, a lot of places had their Christmas stuff on display before Halloween, this year!
The only thing I’ve purchased related to Christmas this year was a raffle ticket where the money went to tuition assistance and yarn to MAKE scarves for my nieces and nephews. Hmm…. wonder if her Maj would enjoy a camo scarf for going to war….

I hope they’ll NEVER ban the annual Neopolitan Christmas tree at the Met.
Although I’m not Christian, I consider it one of the most beautiful works of art I’ve ever seen.

I’m not offended by the Christmas tree per se. It’s a perfectly good pagan tradition (the Romans decorated trees) so I call it a Yule bush. Deal.

Fox News is an angry station according to the governor of Rhode Island.

An xmas tree is just an xmas tree. I suppose the Christians would get a tiny bit more respect for their grubby little holiday if they hadn’t pathetically ripped everything off from pagan and Egyptian religions.

@Tirasmol
Since the Christians stole the tradition of the tree and mistletoe etc from the druids and other “pagans” call it anything you want. It is far older than any christian tradition, just like the holiday season predates christianity by thousands of years. Only the christians are arrogant enough to usurp 1000s of years of tradition and claim it as their exclusive property. HAPPY HOLIODAYS!

My favorite Xmas songs are:
~ “A Christmas Carol” by Tom Lehrer
~ “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” by Elmo & Patsy
~ “The Night Santa Went Crazy” by Weird Al Yankovic
