You should be thankful that the Puritans left! (Unfortunately, we have to put up with their legacy.)

At our house, we’re thankful for buffet restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving; let someone else do all the cooking and cleaning up.

An elderly man in Phoenix calls his son in New York and says, “I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough.”
.
“Pop, what are you talking about?” the son screams.
.
“We can’t stand the sight of each other any longer,” the old man says. “We’re sick of each other, and I’m sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her,” and he hangs up.
.
Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. “Like hell they’re getting divorced,” she shouts, “I’ll take care of this.” She calls Phoenix immediately, and screams at the old man, “You are NOT getting divorced. Don’t do a single thing until I get there. I’m calling my brother back, and we’ll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don’t do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?” and hangs up.
.
The old man hangs up his phone, too, and turns to his wife. “Okay,” he says, “they’re coming for Thanksgiving. Now what do we tell them for Christmas?”

Had we not kicked out the English they would have DESTROYED America. I can’t imagine our country being taxed like England is today and the high gas prices. Don’t worry, your legacy are the witch trials and wiping out Indians.

Why on earth would Viccy be celebrating Thanksgiving (or the day after i.e. You’rewelcomegiving). It’s not CofE you know!
And what, in the name of all that’s edible, is the brownish rectangle with the white dots?

And what, in the name of all that’s edible, is the brownish rectangle with the white dots?I think it’s something Mary Worth brought over.masterskrain said, 7 months ago

Sweet Potato casserole, with the marshmallows on top.
It’s usually right next to the green bean/cream of Mushroom Soup dish with the fried Onion Strings on top!

Gross. We never had sweet potato casserole with marshmallows on top. We just baked the sweet potatoes.

@Ms. Ima
As usual, Ima the Idiod completely misses the point. I don’t know how someone like that has even enough brain power to run an autonomic nervous system.

instead a traditional turkey dinner, how about pizza? or a bucket of chicken? or chinese takeout?
