On the subject of Macs and error messages, my hubby works in tech support. On days when the calls are slow, he likes to read forum posts from other techs who got funny or interesting phone calls.
This is one he found:
At 3:37 a.m. on a Sunday, I had just looked at the clock to determine my annoyance level, when I received a frantic phone call from a new user of a Macintosh Plus. She had gotten her entire family out of the house and was calling from her neighbor’s. She had just received her first system error and interpreted the picture of the bomb on the screen as a warning that the computer was going to blow up.
There are even more at Rinkworks.com which is where he gets most of them.

Turns out this week was (almost) based on a true story. I was having drive difficulty (I thought) shortly after I did and filed these three days’ worth, so I ordered a new drive and moved to my laptop to keep working. Now after three days of fiddling around, it turns out it was the drive controller on the motherboard, not the drive itself, that was going. Joy.

at least you’ve been able to keep going and prevent the rest of us from going into withdrawal symptoms.

Orgelspieler: It’s modeled after a clipart image I used ages ago because it kind of looked like I did back then. I drew this self-portrait in the same basic pose with the same accessories and the same color scheme.
