pschearer - contractual obligations devolve to the next of kin, or to the trustees of the estate, upon decease of the first party. Stokowski was contracted out for five years of guest conducting appearances when he passed on.

As for Leopold Stokowski (a man so famous in his time that Bugs Bunny once disguised himself as Stokie), I remember that he signed his last 5-year contract at AGE 95!! Now that’s optimism! (Saw him conduct once. Unforgettable.)
