When my wife and I see little kids mesmerized by their parent’s cell phone (undoubtedly given to them to quiet them), we refer top the devices as “Kiddie Crack.”
Kids should be observing the world around them, playing and exploring and discovering (and getting bumps, bruises and dirty; it’s all part of the learning experience).
A child’s world should not be reduced to a tiny screen (or even a big screen TV), esp. if the purpose in doing so is to sedate them.
