    Talk about an overpopulation problem…Earth would become like Trantor…er…Coruscant, having to import EVERYTHING, since the entire surface is one huge city!

    Trantor is one of the classic examples of “did not do the math.” Fitting the entire population of Earth into a single city would involve a city the size of South Carolina, increasing the population tenfold would still fit in Texas+Oklahoma and increasing the population a hundredfold would still fit in the Continental US.
