    Keith, all social movements in the United States, start on the left coast and slowly work their way across the country; that lower right-hand corner, it’s a bitch……but it will come around. It’s been a long time comin’, but a change is gonna come.

    Agree its a joke she went to jail for it, but from what I have gathered there are still more black americans who make (good?) use of that kind of law to get off than whites. Ofc that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take a look at the law or how its used in such cases.

    Bad lawyers. Where was the NRA defense fund?

    Keef’s conclusion is, I think, correct. Sadly.

    Didn’t she run to her car to get the gun? That invalidated the “sand your ground” law. But he still may be correct on that.

    Zimmerman shot some one who was strangling him, punching him repeatedly in the face, and slamming his head into the pavement. Shooting the kid was a desperate, last resort.

    Keith leaves out this Key Factor of this case and why she was charged as she violated Florida’s ‘Stand Your Ground Law’.

    What Keith omitted was this key fact:

    The Gun Was Not In The House!

    Ms. Alexander Left The House, went out to her car, and instead of driving to The Police Station, she took her gun from her car went back into the House and fired the warning shots.

    Had the Gun been in the same room as she was, she would not have been charged.

    She went from Victim to Aggressor when she left the house and reentered with the gun.

    Try telling the entire truth for once.

    Correct, once she left the house, she was no longer in fear of her life as her husband didn’t follow her to her car.

    Yes, when she reentered the house with her gun, she was the aggressor and not the victim and violated The ‘Stand Your Ground Law’ rules, hence why she was charged.

    Mr. Zimmerman had a HCP his gun was strapped to him, he did not ask: “Excuse me, Sir, would you mind stopping pounding on me so I can go back to my car and get my gun and kill you?”

    @Tigger

    He was in her home!

    How would driving to the police station have helped? The police would have laughed at her or if they were unusually responsive and returned to her house with her, her abusive husband would have left by then. All he would have to do was wait until the police left and then he’d return to beat her again or possibly kill her. She obviously had run out of options and he wasn’t going to leave her alone, so she feared for her life. She shot into the ceiling to hopefully scare him so he’d leave her alone.

    Why is that so hard to understand and why should she get put in prison for 20 years it? No one was injured and the only property damaged was her own house. It boggles my mind.

    @Tigger; you’re banging your head against a wall of ’don’t confuse me with facts’ folks believing their feelings instead of their own lying eyes. Her real mistake was shooting into the ceiling instead of shooting her abuser. She’d have gotten less prison time and the world would be better off.

    As usual, Tigger, you’re missing Keef’s point. If she had actually KILLED her husband, there would have been no witnesses to contradict her. Sound FAMILIAR? She could have said, “I came to the house to get some things, my gun was in my handbag, my husband started strangling me, I feared for my life, so I shot him.” A jury would have had only her version of events. Sound FAMILIAR? Had Trayvon survived (as this woman’s husband did), Zimmerman might well be working the lunch line in federal prison right now.

    @Night-Gaunt49

    Correct, she left the house, entered her car, this is when she should have driven to a neighbor or the Police Station.

    Had the gun been Inside The House, she would not have been charged.

    Congratulations, You understand the ‘Stand Your Ground Law’. Once she left the house and reentered with her gun,she became the aggressor and this is why she was charged. Sadly, Mr. Knight is ignorant on ‘The Stand Your Ground Law’ rules else he would not have drawn this stupid toon.

    The only reason you can use The ‘Stand Your Ground Law’ is if you are in fear of your life from an attacker

    @lichtentunes

    He was her Husband

    She left the house and got in her car.

    If she went back the the house with the Police he would have been arrested for violating the order of protection and taken to jail.

    You are ignorant of the rules of ‘Stand Your Ground Laws’ Had the gun been inside the house, no charges would have been filed. Stand Your Ground is invalidated once you leave he house and reenter with a Gun.

    She got 20 years for attempted murder.

    Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

    You miss the point, had she killed him no charges would have been filed.

    Had she simply driven to the Police Station and asked them to escort her back to her home, her husband would have been arrested for violating the Order of Protection filed against Him.

    Sorry, you and Keef are wrong on this one and you know you’re wrong.
