When I worked in Foster City, Ca I had a black friend who got stopped at least twice a month just before arriving at the campus…FOR 5 FREAKIN’ years!

Had an older car with expired plates, wouldn’t pass emissions so I couldn’t replace them until it did

I drove it for nearly a year and never was pulled over

My wife (at the time) was Hispanic

She drove it twice in that year and was pulled over both times

I realize this wasn’t the point of the comic, but just a thought: it was a guy who was sure he was fine to drive who killed my brother. “I felt like I was fine to drive” is one of the stupidest, crappest measures of sobriety ever. Howabout, next time you either don’t drink, or don’t drive, eh?

DWB is only part of it. Being Arrested While Black then sentenced While Black are also rampant in our society. The police have a distinct racial bias these days gone by.

Lynne B: Right. This is certainly NOT a laughing matter.

Yeah! Like the cops in Chicago always blaming the murder rate on blacks! Or gangs raiding walmarts & 7-11s. Those white gangs in blackace get the blacks all sorts of anguish. And how about those black cops, eh? Bunch of race-traitors!

5 FREAKIN’ years? Either your friend is a a freakin’ liar trying to build his victim cred, the cops in Foster City have a serious epidemic of short term memory loss or your friend managed not to get arrested for whatever mischief he/she was up to, time after time after time… Five years? C’mon…

Years ago, I was pulled over for changing lanes without signaling (Yes, my fault). Before the officer even asked to see my license and registration, a car travelling at least 100 MPH passed us. He ran back to his car and engaged in a high-speed chase. I waited five minutes, then drove off.

I’m sorry for your loss Lynne B., but there’s a vast gulf between having 3 drinks in 3 hours, and drinking to the point of impairment. This stance some people like to take that if anyone has a drink at all they should just throw away the car keys is over the top, plain and simple.

drewdane; Right! You got it. If you must drink, stay home.

@Larry93535. Again with the over the top attitude towards drinking. One drink per hour is not going to impair the vast majority of drivers. Yet the MADD types of the world would have us believe that even light social drinking inevitably leads to carnage on the roads as sure as night follows day…

Personally, I rarely have more than one or two drinks when I’m out and about, and usually with dinner and lots of water. I don’t “feel” I’m fine to drive. I KNOW I am.
