    I remember the movie cartoons of Mighty Mouse, Jo, but never saw him on TV (I think that was probably after my time, so to speak). Can’t recall his theme song at all (sniff). I’ll just have to take Pierpoint’s word for it—and I don’t feel too comfortable doing that!

    Here I come to save the day,
    that means that Mighty Mouse is on the way

    While the Warner Brothers classics used opera for humor, Mighty Mouse sang his arias seriously. Not sure MM was still around when my kids grew up.

    You can see Mighty Mouse cartoons (the original Terrytoons versions, the Filmation series and the Ralph Bakshi-produced “Mighty Mouse — The New Adventures” [I think that was the title]) on YouTube.

    Dry your eyes…

    “Mr. Trouble never hangs around,
    When he hears this mighty sound;
    ‘Here I come to save the day!’
    That means that Mighty Mouse
    Is on his way!

    “Yes sir, when there is a wrong to right,
    Mighty Mouse will join the fight!
    On the sea, or on the land,
    He has the situation well in hand!”

    Somewhere on YouTube, there is a hilarious video of the late Andy Kaufman playing the song on a record player on “Saturday Night Live”.

    I must be old. I remember Mighty Mouse and Atom Ant being my favorite Saturday Morning cartoons. sigh Those were the days, my friends.

    Every Saturday morning in the ’50’s…Mighty Mouse, followed by Heckle and Jeckle…oh yeah!

    Loved them in Mexico in the 70’s, the original Terrytoons, with the talking magpies (Heckle and Jeckle).
    The theme song was in original English and the narrator and Mighty Mouse saying farewell was voiced by Jorge Arvizu, “El Tata”. He passed away two weeks ago. A dubbing leyend and actor. RIP
