My Grandfather (born 1900) was too young for World War I and too old for World War II

He had mixed feeling about it, he would have been proud to serve his country but he he also knew plenty enough veterans to undertand the horrors that date of birth spared him

500 miles below the equator in the middle of the Indian Ocean Never figured I’d end up there when I signed up nor did they ever tell me this fun fact Rota Spain was a little better Then they chucked me out for not playing “nice” shall we say Honorable discharge though For my guys in the Gulf safe journey home I still have some pride
