    Funny how your avatar is replying to frog’s avatar. ;-)
    Personally, I think turkey is too dry (except the dark meat) and isn’t really all that tasty. I’d rather have pork, beef, shrimp, or even fish than turkey. :-s

    burl , I always thought turkey white meat was also so dry. Then I went to a wedding and asked the cook why the bird was so moist ?
    She told me this “Stupid white boy ,you cook 1 hour per pound !”

    As a former turkey grower and current turkey cook, I can assure you that if you think turkey is dry, you have never eaten it properly cooked. Not saying you have to like it, that is personal taste but turkey is not dry!

    OMG! One hour per pound would give you turkey chips! Use a thermometer and stop cooking at about 165 degrees at the thickest part of thigh. Let it rest, it will finish up cooking and your bird will be perfect and NOT dry
