I’ve heard it said that an Alaskan mosquito landed at an air port, and was fueled up.

Now there are reports of a skeeter down in Florida the size of a quarter. Just wonderful. That will go well with the gators, giant cockroaches, pythons, multiple species of man eating sharks, lion fish, zombie sink holes that eat you and your house….now children tell me again why it would be so wonderful, if Mom and I move to Florida?

    gallinippers:

    — They’re the largest biting mosquitoes in the United States.

    — The body is about half an inch long with longer hind legs that are hairy and have zebra stripes.

    — They’re native to the eastern half of North America.

I think I’m glad that I live in California where we don’t have insects that big

We don’t have extra large skeeters in Texas, just thick clouds of them. Those nasty buggers in Michigan, Minnesota, and Alaska, on the other hand, can carry off a horse…

In Minnesota, only the four engine variety is allowed to carry horses.

but they’ll carry up to six at a time

As the old joke say’s give a Texan an enema and bury him in a shoe box . Alaska skeeters are meaner than Floridian ones although as a kid in the 60’s living on Key largo at times it seemed the could block out the sun.
