    My cats have always had cat food from pop top cans, the can opener means nothing to them


    Most everything these days comes in the pop-top can and the certainly do know that noise and come running

    It’s not the sound, it’s the scent. I can open a pouch of tuna anywhere in the house, and all three of mine will materialize in zero time!

    My two late foster cats had never had food from a can, but they came running for both can opener and pop lid sounds, although we were still not feeding them from cans.
    A long hidden instinct?
