Phil Frank’s The Elderberries centers around Dusty, a cowboy whose middle aged daughter has decided it’s time for him to hang up his spurs and move to Elderpark, a retirement community. While there, Dusty meets the Professor, a great brain with a bad memory; Evelyn, who can still see well enough to drive at night; and the General, a veteran with bad hips and a lot of stories. Together, they deal with medications, the loss of youth, and their adult children while maintaining their humor and building their friendships.

Looks like Boone is up for the “Purple Eye” medal.

Those boys aren’t exactly little. According to how tall they were in yesterday’s installment, they have to be at least 12 years old.
Apparently, the little children’s wading pool was put out by the curb for trash pickup and that’s why Dusty assumed that the owner no longer wanted it.
The boys are actually brats, in my opinion, AND too big for a wading pool anyway.

Joe Allen Doty - I was kind of thinking along the same lines when I read yesterday’s strip. When my boys were that size, even a large cattle tank was too shallow/boring for them.
