With its tortured perspective, gritty realism, and outlandish urban humor, Derf’s The City has kept an outsider’s beat on current events, trends and out-there aspects of contemporary culture since 1990. Whether depicting the coarse insanity of modern urban life or the ultra-clean realm of the feature’s only recurring character - White Middle Class Suburban Man - Derf uses dissonant humor to speak up for what he calls "the common schlub."

Yeah, good luck to you, sir. A 10” zipper on your chest, an 8” slit on your shin & closed drainage holes is very scar-y.

Years ago, there were two Well Seasoned Female associates who carried Oxygen Tanks to aid their breahting. We were a Smoke Free Work Zone. Smokers had to step outside to Smoke.
Yes, both ladies would go out together,. Thye owuld leave their oxygen tanks inside. go outside and smoke, come back in hook up to their oxygen tanks again.
Prayers to you.

How’d it go, Derf? I figure you’ve gotta be through it by now. Hope the silence equals recovery time…
