Art holds a mirror up to Nature. The Buckets come along, turn the mirror on Art and say, “Look how goofy you’re acting. Now get to work, Art. Your kids need an Xbox 360.”
The Buckets comic strip isn’t a parody of family life. Parodies are filled with hearts and rainbows or enraged tirades and dramatic confrontation. The Buckets, though? Nope. Real life, baby. It’s funny because it’s on a page and not in your house at the moment. Next week, when it’s happening to you, you’ll thank us for reminding you that it’s supposed to be funny.
Greg Cravens looks in the mirror and see not himself, but all of us. And then he draws up the silly, grand, goofy, thrilling, utterly human things we do and calls it The Buckets.

It’s not the sleepiness that makes cutting back hard; it’s the headaches.

Don’t let everyone dictate what you should & should not have! Enjoy your coffee! Nothing wrong with it!

I cut out all pop related items (except an sweetened ice tea every 2-3 days) and had a rough time… but I’ve made it 73 days… Greg gave up Mountain Dew, and I THINK that’s where this comic comes from…
BTW Greg – how goes the battle against Mt. Dew? Have you done the full 73 days like m e?

One or two cups of coffee (or other caffeine-containing drink) should be fine. I think people only run into problems when they drink it all day long.

@Allan
I used to drink 3 – 5 cans of Mountain Dew a day. Love the stuff, still do, but I’ve given it up. Actually I drink sodas once or twice a week now. Instead I drink flavored sugar free sparkling water (with a splash of cranberry-anyberry juice) .
