Art holds a mirror up to Nature. The Buckets come along, turn the mirror on Art and say, “Look how goofy you’re acting. Now get to work, Art. Your kids need an Xbox 360.”
The Buckets comic strip isn’t a parody of family life. Parodies are filled with hearts and rainbows or enraged tirades and dramatic confrontation. The Buckets, though? Nope. Real life, baby. It’s funny because it’s on a page and not in your house at the moment. Next week, when it’s happening to you, you’ll thank us for reminding you that it’s supposed to be funny.
Greg Cravens looks in the mirror and see not himself, but all of us. And then he draws up the silly, grand, goofy, thrilling, utterly human things we do and calls it The Buckets.

Welcome to the world of mothers.
I have to get up two hours before I go to bed just to keep up with everything.

And some guys say their wives don’t do anything; just take care of the kids and do a little housework once in a while.

She MAY have to wake up around 5:30 or 6:00am. That’s not too bad… I get up at 8am to be at school for 11:40 Thur/Fri and 13:30 on Mon/Tue.

Sounds a lot like my life. I’m up by 5:30 most mornings and don’t get to be til 11 most nights.

My mom is up by five and down at 12 midnight, or, most of the time, 1 or 2 in the morning. But then, so does my dad…

oh, I remember doing that! Though I would get to work about 20 minutes earlier so I could have quiet time before everyone else arrived.
.
then every 2-3 days I would need an afternoon nap.
