Art holds a mirror up to Nature. The Buckets come along, turn the mirror on Art and say, “Look how goofy you’re acting. Now get to work, Art. Your kids need an Xbox 360.”
The Buckets comic strip isn’t a parody of family life. Parodies are filled with hearts and rainbows or enraged tirades and dramatic confrontation. The Buckets, though? Nope. Real life, baby. It’s funny because it’s on a page and not in your house at the moment. Next week, when it’s happening to you, you’ll thank us for reminding you that it’s supposed to be funny.
Greg Cravens looks in the mirror and see not himself, but all of us. And then he draws up the silly, grand, goofy, thrilling, utterly human things we do and calls it The Buckets.

With multiparty system, sometimes some minor 5% of the vote party is needed by others just to get a majority.
Not that our system is much better.

Here in the UK, two gang up and bully the most popular party. There’s one which is a fickle, sort of ‘floating’ party that supports whichever of the other two will give it the most presents. It threatens allegiance changes frequently, and it is something of a bully, despite being tiny and universally loathed, and constantly throws hissy fits if it doesn’t get its own way.
I don’t normally condone violence, but I think it would do this party good to have its head put down the toilet,

Oddball’s new avatar is a fine, fine thing. Hey, look up at the headline banner! It’s now an ad for a wonderful gift book! I gave one to the happy couple at a baby shower the other day. I consider it a book full of fair warning… the perfect baby shower gift. Or Christmas. There are gifts then, right?

I’ve been a proud supporter of the All Night Party ever since they nominated Howard the Duck as their presidential candidate back in 1976

It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.

We have, up north, been known to have 3 or 4 ‘major’ parties and 3 or 4 “minor” parties. Having worked as “Deputy Returning Officer” (aka I’m the boss of a single poll) and an Area Manager (I’m in charge of 5-9 DRO’s) I’ve seen ballots with as few as 3 candidates, and as many as 7 candidates… and each ballot is manually counted at the end of the night.
Some of our larger parties are…
Liberal, Conservative, Democratic, (the big three), and
Green (enviro), Rino, and Marijuana.
Yes, the Marijuana Party.
We do have Communist Party, and others … see below for a good listing of our parties.

Yes, we must consider the feelings of the parties.

@Allan
We have a Monster Raving Loony Party (or possibly a Raving Monster Loony Party), but sadly it doesn’t put up candidates in every borough.
In Hartlepool a few years ago they elected a man in a monkey suit (anyone who knows Hartlepool, knows there is a history to this).
