Art holds a mirror up to Nature. The Buckets come along, turn the mirror on Art and say, “Look how goofy you’re acting. Now get to work, Art. Your kids need an Xbox 360.”
The Buckets comic strip isn’t a parody of family life. Parodies are filled with hearts and rainbows or enraged tirades and dramatic confrontation. The Buckets, though? Nope. Real life, baby. It’s funny because it’s on a page and not in your house at the moment. Next week, when it’s happening to you, you’ll thank us for reminding you that it’s supposed to be funny.
Greg Cravens looks in the mirror and see not himself, but all of us. And then he draws up the silly, grand, goofy, thrilling, utterly human things we do and calls it The Buckets.

Somebody give that boy a periscope, so he can see where he’s going.

And, it doesn’t look like he has much room in there for candy!

My kids keep wanting to carry props to go with their costumes… guns, swords, you get the idea. I always tell them, I’m not dressed as a Sherpa. I’m not carrying your bits of costume around. You bring it, YOU dance with it. But, dress as your own halloween bag? Frees up your hands completely! You could eat and walk at the same time!

Reminds me of a woman who dressed as a tophat. Hat, fishnets and pumps.

Cute!!
@Hardware Dept. Comic Strip We used to use billow cases!
One year, my womb donor borrowed grandpas car. We filled our pillow case, and pour it into a garbage bag, and continued on our way. We spent around 2 HOURS trick or treating, and gave about 1/2 away to ‘less fortunate’ kids. (Oh, we lived in ‘the projects" at the time, and weren’t well off ourselves, but, we helped those even less so.)

I assume he intends to eat his way through the neighborhood.

eyeholes will only allow candy to escape. But isn’t the bag a little short? Dad will have to lean down to guide. (and a larger bag means more goodies!)
