Art holds a mirror up to Nature. The Buckets come along, turn the mirror on Art and say, “Look how goofy you’re acting. Now get to work, Art. Your kids need an Xbox 360.”
The Buckets comic strip isn’t a parody of family life. Parodies are filled with hearts and rainbows or enraged tirades and dramatic confrontation. The Buckets, though? Nope. Real life, baby. It’s funny because it’s on a page and not in your house at the moment. Next week, when it’s happening to you, you’ll thank us for reminding you that it’s supposed to be funny.
Greg Cravens looks in the mirror and see not himself, but all of us. And then he draws up the silly, grand, goofy, thrilling, utterly human things we do and calls it The Buckets.

I would definitely watch that show!
There used to be an advert on TV showing someone opening a fridge, and all there was was a box of eggs, a bit of stale cheese and an onion, and they whipped up a magnificent a delicious omelette. In my house they would have got a fried egg with boiled onion and a lump of cheese for pudding.
Cooking is HARD.

I’ve learned a lot from cooking shows – mainly how to use a knife. I also saw how to use herbs and spices I never learned from my mom.

Right! I like how the second lady looks frazzled like a real mom.

James Barber had a half hour show with great stories of all our local people and places. And yes. He would explain stuff like the WHY. He is the reason I don’t use salt in most cooking. (but must in baking). I blame him for teaching me how to choose onions. The first time – it took me over 20 minutes to choose the cooking onions!!!
.
These days – I do like that 2nd cooking show. I have the mac&chez (or just the mac), what’s in the fridge that can go in the mac. Same with the dry chicken noodle soup pack. I have an egg. What else is in the fridge.
