   The silly thing is- I’ve tried and tried to teach my kids this, but my first instinct is the same as theirs. Get that tick off and fling it!

   For all of you who like the history of hand-lettered cartoons and censorship- For many long years,the word ‘Flick’ was disallowed in comics. Hand lettering it in all-capitals caused an issue in shape recognition, and ‘Flick’ would then resemble a word that no one wanted on a comics page, fearing the ‘seduction of the innocents.’
