From “Dick Cheney’s Magical Universe” to “The Brighter Side of Middle East Violence”, from “Bush Versus My Cat” to “Every Sperm Is Sacred!”, Reid’s boldly drawn and ingeniously conceived commentaries offer those steamed off by these ill–tempered times a well–crafted outlet for mental venting.

Right on. The Biggest and Best reason to say no to McCain. Two more justices are likely to leave within the next four years. If McCain’s in office, the court will be stacked 7 - 2 with the right wingnuts in charge.

Just one of the many reasons I’m not so much voting for Obama as against McCain/Palin

The supreme court justice issue is a good reason to go with McCain, but don’t worry - Roe v. Wade won’t be overturned no matter what the court makeup is.

There is no reason in the world to kill a baby – none!! You butchers scare me and that’s why I have several guns. You can kill defenseless babies all you want. Those of us who can will fight back.
But, of course, maybe I should root for Obamamessiah to win. After all, 50% of all abortions are done on black women. The KKK must love you liberals so much!

I doubt that Homeland security and other such authorities spend much time cruising comic web sites. However I feel I must note that we are rapidly approaching a time when even an implied threat over the internet may well become a criminal offense. IrishEddie is most likely a harmless lunatic with a big (virtual) mouth, but it may well behoove him to tone down the violent rhetoric.

It’s funny that guys like IEO’H are so vehement about the unborn but they don’t give a flying bleeep about the kid once it’s out. I say that you have no moral right to oppose abortion unless you also oppose the death penalty and are willing to adopt one of those kids.

Runar: Eddie made some of the same kind of gibbering rants on yesterday’s Maintaining as well. I’ve commented on both pages, but it would appear that he is not up to the challenge of a rational discourse.

HAHAHA! Can you believe that guy? dude says; ’that’s why I own several guns’ Why? Delusional paranoid schizophrenia? I bet his chart reads ”Not Allow Use or Possess Sharp Objects”
Hugh B. Hayve said, about 1 year ago
The sad part is, the guys viewpoint and belief system sounds almost the same as that nutbar who shot those people in that church down south a couple of months ago. Maybe it’s just me, but if your belief system involves shooting people who don’t agree with your own moral dogma, then you might have serious mental issues.

I believe IrishEddie is merely projecting a belief that you may consider him with the same disdain that you hold for the unborn and their lives; and that you may decide to come after him with an armed politically-correct goon squad and take him out or shut him up.

Good point margueritem, it is the same ”free country” that has groups of uniformed men armed with assault rifles, who chase high school kids for smoking weed. I do believe there are worse threats to society. The gun dude is living in a bubble and maybe doesn’t see abortion from a human point of view. I’ve only met a couple of women who have had an abortion and neither of them did it because of ”disdain for the unborn” (one was medical, the other was 15 yrs old and made a birth control mistake). Both suffered depression afterward and are still affected by it years later. It is really a very touchy issue, with some pretty strong opinions on both sides. I’m on the fence for this one…I say let the ladies decide this issue…they’re the ones who have to carry them for nine months and take all the medical risks involved.

Yes, thank you Hugh.

Why is it so damned important to liberals that the killing of unborn children have an institutional endorsement?? Abortion is a most barbaric form of murder and has nothing to do with women’s rights or separation of church and state. If a woman was actually held accountable for her sexual choices, perhaps she’d act a little more responsibly. In lieu of the ready availability of abortion, the worst consequence would be carrying a child to term and then putting it up for adoption (and shortening the waiting list!). Yes, some teens might endure some grief from parents, but it’s an imperfect world. Circumventing that grief by murdering the child is hardly a civilized solution.
EScott2U said, about 1 year ago
An abortion performed to save a woman’s life accounts for an infinitesimally insignificant number of the abortions performed. Rape accounts for a just a slightly larger amount, but why should the circumstances of the child’s conception impact that child’s human value? As for a definition of human life, the moment the sperm hits the egg, an absolutely unique genetic code that defines that person comes into existence. Fact: Abortion is legal right up to the moment the child enters the birth canal. Fact: Most premature births that early in the third trimester and beyond will survive without long term complications. But it’s fine with you to reach into the womb during that time and crush it’s skull and suck it out. YOU’RE THE ONE with an extremely low standard of human life.
Kingof01, are you saying that the only people against abortion are religious? Moral convictions do exist outside of church. The state makes all sorts of moral judgments in the form of legislation. Also, are the millions of woman who believe in the sanctity of life against women’s rights? Really?

There is a reason people say pro-choice. No rational person believes that abortion is a good thing. There are many reasons a woman would make the choice. Not all of them are necessarily reasons I would agree with. I’m male, so I wouldn’t know how it feels. Regardless, abortions are going to happen. They must be legal so that they can be performed legally and as safely as possible. No decent person I know thinks it would be a good thing to go back to the days of illegal back room abortions and coat hangers. It’s not about right and wrong, it’s about reality.
