That must have been a Monarch Butterfly.
Rory is a lamb who refuses to follow other sheep to the big red barn on the farm for shelter in the winter.

Well…that’s admirable Rory but it won’t keep you from freezing your hoofies off.

Those of us who refuse to follow often find ourselves out in the cold. Still, I wouldn’t be any other way.

It’s a Martyr Butterfly, Joe….and Rory’s admiration of it will wane in another second or two.

Maybe Rory has been into the special clover again, and the Butterfly isn’t real.

The Greek word “martyr” merely means one who witnessed something or is a witness for someone.
How can a butterfly be a martyr if it dies due to being frozen to death?

Joe Allen Doty sez: ”The Greek word “martyr” merely means one who witnessed something or is a witness for someone.
How can a butterfly be a martyr if it dies due to being frozen to death?”
It came.
It saw.
It froze to death.

But, a can a dead butterfly be a witness after it is dead?
A martyr has to still be alive when he or she is a witness.
On the Bible related tangent here: One time quite a few years ago, I was watching a primetime show about doctors working in hospitals. The title of one particular installment was “The Lazarus Syndrome.”
One of the doctors on the show said another doctor was suffering from the Lazarus syndrome because he wanted to raise people from the dead.
But, the man named Lazarus during Jesus’ ministry didn’t raise anyone from the dead. Jesus was the one who raised Lazarus from the dead.
