Meet Scott Hilburn

Scott Hilburn's single panel cartoon, The Argyle Sweater, is inspired by the works of many cartoonists. Gary Larson, Tom Cheney, Sam Gross and Jim Meddick are but a few of the names that have influenced the style and humor in Scott's work.

Born in 1971, Scott grew up in Garland, Texas (the inspiration and basis for the fictional Arlen, Texas - the setting for the animated television series, King of the Hill). He has lived in various cities throughout the North Dallas area and currently resides in McKinney, Texas.

Scott earned his bachelor's degree in psychology and began working towards his master's in clinical psychology/professional counseling before interrupting his post-graduate studies to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a starving cartoonist.

Scott believes that, if printed on slices of bread and medicine bottles, his cartoons could one day end world hunger and eradicate incurable diseases throughout the planet.

In his spare time, Scott likes writing in third person.
