    Yeah, well that rook-ie is just shooting his mouth off, trying to sound tough.

    His name is Mongo. He’s just a pawn in game of life.

    The horse is in a nasty mood – he’s just getting done with the knight shift.

    Boy, is his face red. But, if he can just get down and start rolling, they can’t catch him. One of them only takes small steps. The other can’t even go in a straight line.

    And today’s politically incorrect comment: “Yeah, I done it, but they was all black!” (He beat the rap….)

    It is just a game and he has his game face on. In fact, they all do.

    @PICTO

    You’re weird (and I mean that as a high compliment).

    According to Wikipedia, Karras got the MNF gig after Blazing Saddles (what I personally remember him for) came out; but I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how this reminded you of that movie (one of my personal top 3).

    Funny comment!!

    @mabrndt

    @cheap day return made a comment about one the cops being a “rook-ie” but neither of the chess pieces is a rook. One is a knight and the other is " just a pawn". After that it wasn’t hard to invoke the master, Mr. B.
    He was married to Anne Bancroft for crying out loud. He should have gotten an Oscar for that , let alone for his body of work.
