I have a vivid picture in my mind of my father sitting at a table, wearing a white undershirt, drinking a Pepsi, and eating a raw onion.
He denied this ever happened but I remember it nonetheless.

I have to try that! Do you parboil them first? Sounds like a more heart smart way to cook them. But, I still love to fry them with bacon, onion and garlic.
