“Battleship” was by no stretch of the imagination a good movie, but I was surprised that they DID manage to find a way to work in some real-world equivalents of the game it was based on. Plus which it was great to see those old Navy veterans swinging Big Mo back into action again.

But I wasn’t clear on how they got to the point of not being able to see anything and thus needing to take potshots at each other.

They made a movie about the game? I guess I missed that one.

Cute strip. I kind of enjoyed Battleship, especially when the retired navy guys got the museum in working order again.

The premise is that aliens invade the Pacific, unaware of the fact that warships from multiple nations have congregated together for joint maneuvers. Cue retro ship-on-ship warfare as the warships and the alien vessels exchange fire with each other.

I saw a preview and instantly knew that a movie like that was a “no” for me. I think that $300 million dollars spent making that movie could have spent making a movie with some social reward. It amazes me that anyone over the age of 15 would be interested in stuff like that.

Such a disappointment. I know a sailor that was on one of the ships they filmed on. I was so hoping Battleship was going to be good. :(
