Piecrust made with an egg and yoghurt, filled with fresh strawberry halves and a dash of cinnamon, baked until golden, topped with sugar-free vanilla ice cream. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Today we are going to learn what a Diabetic coma is, boys and girls.
Won’t that be fun?
Apologies for the dark humor, it just seemed to fit the comic.

I happen to be diabetic and I don’t feel making fun of this illness is very funny. What’s next? Alzheimers?

Uuh, I don’t remember.

Hey, I got CRS really bad.

Children do need to be educated about diabetes and Alzheimer’s; about consuming too much refined sugar and carbohydrates. My grand daughter is getting a first had education on diabetes and Alzheimer’s. Her other grandma has both and it is hard on the family. Sometimes we just need to laugh at the situation (laughter is good medicine) rather than cry.

Laughter is the best medicine, and dark humor helps make the intolerable bearable, and if you can’t poke fun at alzheimers …shucks, can,t remember where I was going with that…but it was good….

My ex wife is a diabetic, we’re still very close friends.
That is why I felt comfortable making the joke earlier, and why I also offered it with an apology.
Even though her health is poorly right now, I know she still would laugh if she read this.

Check out the Baldo strip from July about “Papi” Sergio going to the hospital E.R. after fainting & injuring his head & finding out at th E.R. that he has Diabetes.
Also there’s a news story about a 11 year old girl from Wisconsin who died of Diabetes & the parents (who are now under investigation for her death) who though instead of giving her medical treatments that could of saved her life they “prayed” for her to get well instead of using lifesaving medical treatment for Diabetes thus could of saved her life!
This is a sad but true story.

I like jokes about problems I have and even collect them. I’ve even drawn a few such cartoons myself and sometimes shared them with my doctors.

Monster doesn’t qualify for medical help as his diabetes is a pre-existing condition.

I stand corrected regarding sugar-free cookies. Thanks to everyone for the info on diabetes and alzheimers.

I have been a diabeites for almost 20 years (Type 1 since the age of 9) And yes it is true that humor is the best meds! I am comfortable with my health issues, as should everyone it is the hand you where dealt!
My husband and I love me this comic!
If more parents and kids understand the associations with too much sugar, no enough exercise, etc. there would be less obesy sick kids in the world!
