doctortoon is correct though, the founding fathers, in order to protect a persons right to worship, or not worship, as he pleased (one of the reasons some had fled England in the first place) wanted to make sure the government did not establish a church - -the base meaning of separation of church and state means no formal government sanctioned church
I fully support the separation of church and state.
All people should have the right to believe and practice as they wish.
However, no one should have the right to enforce their religious beliefs on others.
Too many people want to use legislation to make their beliefs in to law.
You’d think there would be a serious strip out there for this kind of early morning political-religious discussion. Some of us just came to laugh and take the edge off. :-D
