The cartoon’s fine w/o the sheep saying anything. That really distracts from the joke.
I’m not sure how the crook works into it. THe joke is always about how some article of clothing makes someone look fat.
If the sheep was going to say anything in that vein, how about working the sheep into it…like having the sheep say, “Hey, it’s not the wool dress that makes you fat.” That would have made more sense.
Still, I think just leaving the bottom caption by itself would have been best. The less the better.
