   Poisoned Kool-Aid was used by Jim Jones in Guyana to kill his followers, many years before there was a CSI program to watch. (Which I never have, but I still understand the cartoon.)

   Number 1. Doing a Jim Jones joke is really in bad taste.
   Number 2. Lemmings don’t commit suicide by jumping off cliffs. That’s a TOTAL myth.

   Hilburn perpetuates the myth that lemmings commit mass suicide by running off cliffs. No recorded instances of it.

    And to those who question the myth, you’re right - but you can say the same for talking lemmings, idea light bulbs, or the opposable thumbs the kool-aid pourer apparently has. MAYBE this cartoon is meant to be funny, and not a lesson in behavioral science.

    The joke isn’t that they commit suicide by jumping off a cliff; it’s that if one of them jumps off a cliff they all mindlessly follow to their deaths. The “idea” the other one had was to have some patsy jump off the cliff and the rest would follow, achieving mass suicide.

    O M G dale n calvin, cartoons aren’t always supposed to make fun of actual life. Go bury yourself in the editorial section. OF COURSE lemmings dont run off cliffs, WE KNOW. But in terms of one following the other mindlessly adopting a narrow view of what life should be like and where you should go and what you should do, hey you two have a head start. No wonder you don’t like a cartoon on lemmings. YOU ARE LEMMINGS. Muahahahaha
