‘BTG’ is one of the most popular humor authors of all time. With numerous New York Times Best Sellers to his credit, countless publishing awards, and over 22,000,000 copies sold in 115 countries, you would think his brain would be highly organized ... But it’s not.
The Lost Bear feature, exclusive to GoComics, is ample proof of this. Welcome to BTG’s lifelong cerebral misadventure. The Lost Bear showcases the delightfully odd daily debris that tumbles out of BTG’s head when his mental engine starts to misfire. This is public therapy at its most entertaining, set within an absurdist pseudo-intellectual petting zoo – Feel free to feed the bear.

I caught one of these tutu clad vermin in a trap yesterday. It had eaten a wire in my car and deserved the fate.

In a curious way this shamelessly silly cartoon was inspired by one of my heroes, Edward Gorey, who was a passionate ballet fan. I have been enjoying Floating Worlds, a collection of Gorey’s wonderful correspondance. Personally, I have a love-hate relationship with dance – when it is good it is simply sublime – when it is bad, it is perhaps the worst form of creative expression … after sitar playing and performance poetry.

For the record, you do not have to be gay to enjoy the ethereal dancing mouse dream.

I suggest you check your beard, Articulate Caveman, there may be a whole family of cats, gay and straight living in there, and I dare say more than one or two classically trained mice as well.

At The Lost Bear intelligent silliness is our thing.
