    A bumblebee did once sting me
    And left his little stinger.
    Undignified, I tried and tried
    To remove it with my fingers.

    But extraction came with myself to blame
    For my pants were somewhat plastered…
    With pollen and wings and messy things;
    I had sat on the little bastard.

    “Be my baby bumble bee,
    Buzz around, buzz around,
    keep a buzzin round..”

    I always thought Doris Day was more fun than Rimski-Kosakov

    Superfrog (yesterday):

    Kingaroy is not all that far away from where I used to live, many years ago, in QLD (Ipswich). Bet things have changed in the last 48 years.

    Yes, Ipswich is a pretty big city now but is still in the shadow of Brisbane. My niece and her husband live in Ipswich but both work in Brisbane. I came to Kingaroy for a 2 year job to set up a new laboratory but that was in 1976 and I’m still here.
    In 1964 I was still in high school in Brisbane. Where did you move to after Ipswich?

    We were £10 Poms who arrived in the late 50s, lived near Caboolture for a while on a pineapple plantation. We then moved to Beachmere, then Ipswich when my father joined the RAAF. Three years in Malaya then back to Ipswich. My mother found out she had cancer and wanted to see her family again so we returned to England. If I was older I would have elected to stay in Australia (my fathers secret choice also). He was the first man to be demobbed from the RAAF by computer and we still have the newspaper cutting. I miss the place.

    If you are unable to find any Pollen, go to today’s Non Sequitur…. You may find plenty of it on that page….

    I’m quite bee-mused by this strip.

    I see he’s (I take it he’s a drone) got a “cell” phone but I hope he doesn’t come down with a case of hives.
