   We had a snow storm like that a couple of years ago. After 2 hours shoveling we had to give up and wait for it to stop falling.

   I was snow-blowing my long driveway, and by the time I finished, there was 2" on the side I started on.

    In lake effect areas of Michigan the snow does gain on you during heavy snow.
