The Born Loser began in 1965 as a strip with no central characters that revolved around the loser theme. Gradually, it developed into the comic we see today, starring lovable loser Brutus Thornapple, his wife Gladys, mother-in-law Ramona Gargle, boss Rancid Veeblefester, dim-witted son Wilberforce and the mischievous neighbor Hurricane Hattie O'Hara.
Artist Chip Sansom began apprenticing for his father, Born Loser creator Art Sansom, in 1977. He became a full-time assistant, and gradually took on an ever-increasing role in the drawing and gag-writing duties until his father passed away in 1991.

Sadly, he sounds like a far too typical 1%er.

while I agree Rancid isn’t exactly a nice guy and is a !@#$, just switch places. If you were paying someone to work and they only did half the job that other employees were doing what would you do?
lazy people who don’t want to work but still get paid is just another way of stealing in my book.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Rancid is a J.C. Dithers wannabe with delusions of adequacy. And, if you want to see somebody who really fits the description of lazy, look at Wally from Dilbert. Brutus looks like he’s at least trying to do his job; Wally’s only interested in coasting until he reaches retirement.

If you’ve got 10 guys and nine are good and one is bad, you make the bad one the foreman and remain at 90% production.

Rancid must run a unionized company.

Doubt it. With workers being underpaid it is more likely a Republican stronghold run by greedhead conservatives.
