The Born Loser began in 1965 as a strip with no central characters that revolved around the loser theme. Gradually, it developed into the comic we see today, starring lovable loser Brutus Thornapple, his wife Gladys, mother-in-law Ramona Gargle, boss Rancid Veeblefester, dim-witted son Wilberforce and the mischievous neighbor Hurricane Hattie O'Hara.
Artist Chip Sansom began apprenticing for his father, Born Loser creator Art Sansom, in 1977. He became a full-time assistant, and gradually took on an ever-increasing role in the drawing and gag-writing duties until his father passed away in 1991.

“Season’s greetings” has to be the smarmiest phrase ever invented, and probably invented by someone in the mid-20th century who did not observe Christmas.
If you can’t say, “Merry Christmas,” please at least use the modern “happy holidays”!

How about Happy Yule? Blessed Solstice? Happy Kwanzaa? The solstice was celebrated long before Christmas came along, and some of us still do that. Believe it or not, there are people right here in the USA who are not Christians and do not celebrate Christmas.

I’d just like to say Peace be with you all during and way beyond the Christmas season.

I say “Merry Christmas” two days a year (24th & 25th). Christmas on both sides of my family is just an excuse to get the entire family together and have a good time.

Right on. If you mean happy Hannukah, or something say so. Trying to be politically correct is for losers. Personally, my greeting is Merry Christmas and Happy New year because that reflects my background. BTW, happy holidays is no different than Seasons Greetings.

When in Rome, . . . But why should the rest of us give up Christmas just because some don’t celbrate it? We should be acceptant of their ways, and they should be equally acceptant of ours. BTW Kwanzaa is an artificial concoction of recent origin.

I quite often say, “Have a happy holiday season” and is meant to include ALL holidays from Thanksgiving through New Years.
