    Click-to-enlarge image can be found here. Earlier smaller enlargement can also be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry; but it’s oil on wood panel, not oil on canvas (like yesterday, i.e., the Third link below, until I corrected it, Wikimedia had it wrong too — don’t blame Mr. Melcher).

    An Interesting Story is shown, with a different coloration image, by its current-location page.

    At around the same time, the artist also painted The Tedious Story. Both are discussed on pages 60-62 of an online book.
