He looks like a little snitch to me. He’s writing everything down to give to the teacher, the smug little rat !

Quis Dives Qui Nil Cupit Quis Paiper Aar?
Who dives for those who don’t fit as Pirates—Aar?
Just messin’ with ya; my Latin is almost nonexistent.

Me, too. I just know enough to buy newspaper and order a coffee. After that I’m lost.

I wouldn’t trust this guy. Looks too “smarmy”.

I’d like to add “Where can I get a drink” and “Where is the restroom?” (as a consequence of the drink) to my repetoire.
    .
Last time I was in Latin America people just kept telling me where “banjos” could be found.

When I was stationed in Japan the guys that ad been there awhile would tell the new guys that when you need to find the latrine, "run down the street yelling,
DOKO BENJO DES? DOKO BENJO DES?” ".
    .
    *******
And on the bottom of the cheque was written, ‘thanks for happy ending’.

Click-to-enlarge image can be found here. A same-size-as-clicking-it-here image can be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry.

Portrait of a Young Scholar is shown, with a different coloration, click-to-enlarge image, a Dutch cartoon, and audio descriptions (click the speakers), by its current-location page. It is also described, along with a different coloration, click-to-humongous image, by its Google Art Project page.

Another different coloration, click-to-enlarge image can be found here, but there are many different coloration, and detail images available online. The artist’s WIkipedia page and collection (more under Subcategories at each level). His Google translated Dutch Wikipedia page has more juicy details; perhaps explains why he has no Catholic Encyclopedia bio — oops! now I suppose I’ve done it.

So far, 2 works, by this artist, have appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog.
