Tired of art snobs and their stuffy old museums? So was Steve Melcher, so he created That Is Priceless -- dedicated to taking art’s greatest masterpieces down a peg with irreverent new titles. You don’t have to be an art lover to appreciate Steve’s sticking it to the man on a regular basis – especially when that man is someone like Caravaggio, who when you look a little closer, was really kind of a jerk.

Modestly enlarged image can be found here, or at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry.
Portrait of a Gentleman (link shows who he was) is shown, with a different coloration image, by its current-location page (which also lists its alternate titles).
It is actually a collaborative work between the listed artist, who painted the background, and Francis Hayman (link shows his Wikipedia page, collection), who painted the figure. The listed artist‘s Wikipedia page and collection (many more under Subcategories at each level).
In addition to the entry link above, so far one other work by the listed artist has appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog (and no works have been attributed to Mr. Hayman).
