Tired of art snobs and their stuffy old museums? So was Steve Melcher, so he created That Is Priceless -- dedicated to taking art’s greatest masterpieces down a peg with irreverent new titles. You don’t have to be an art lover to appreciate Steve’s sticking it to the man on a regular basis – especially when that man is someone like Caravaggio, who when you look a little closer, was really kind of a jerk.

Fishing for the Obama’s dinner no doubt. Amazing how much a top hat improves Sara J’s looks.

The guy in the top hat must be Matt’s agent. He’s just waiting for his 10% cut of the catch.

Enlarged image (use browser zoom feature) available from here.
The Anglers isn’t described at its current-location page. It isn’t on view, so even if I visited, I couldn’t tell you if it’s in color rather than this b&w photograph of the oil-on-canvas painting. The page has a Why is this in grayscale? tag, but if you click it, all it shows is a link back to the page, with no explanation. He doesn’t have a Wikipedia page and this is the only painting in his Wikipedia collection.
So far, only work by this artist to appear in Mr. Melcher’s blog.
