Ten abandoned cats live in an old warehouse where they are looked after by a young girl named Annie. They include Chesney, the ringleader, Jack, his sidekick, and Oliver - a wide-eyed kitten. The warehouse contains a boardroom on the very top floor, where, unbeknownst to Annie the moggies conduct the world's business through the eyes of a cat.

I just got a call from the vet telling me that Little Fluff passed away this morning from a really bad upper respiratory infection. Plus dehydration plus he couldn’t eat. He was only four months old. Although he was 100% feral, he looked just like a Persian, but without the flat nose. He was grey. A really sweet little boy.
Sorry about being such a downer.

I’m so sorry Lovecraft! I know hard it is to lose a pet. I hope you feel better soon, but I know it might be a while.

So sorry, Lovecraft. I think those of us who read this comic have all been down that road more than once. It always hurts.

I had no idea a cat could die from a URI, he must have been one very sick little boy. I’m sorry for your loss. We’ve been there and it’s painful, oh boy can I relate. I hope you will adopt another … one day soon.
URI’s are highly contagious so watch your other felines.

Katiekicks, Dry, Paula:
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, when the vet saw him he said “That’s a very sick cat.” And he also said that if he knew that nothing could be done he wouldn’t recommend taking him into the hospital for fluid therapy and other possibilities.
I kept Little Fluff in the kitchen, and my others had no contact with him. They seem to be fine.
Thanks again. That’s very sweet of you!

Thank you, Beth and pierreandnicole, for your kind words! I have already have two females in the house, but there’s also a little guy outside who enjoys coming into the house, Tony. He’s a lovely black with green eyes and soft shiny fur. He has already adopted ME.

So sad to read about your Little Fluff… in Germany we say he’s gone over the “rainbow brigde” where he is now happy and where one day we will meet him again.

“The Rainbow Bridge” is a regular column in one of the German cat magazines where people express their sorrow at the passing of their companion. It’s both sad and beautiful.
