Ted Rall for December 10, 2016
Transcript:
We're not the strongest people. Woman 1: Just can't believe it. Woman 2: Why not? 94.5% of the voters cast their ballots for one of 2 total jerks. So the winner was a total jerk. What's so shocking? Woman 1: I'm taking to my bed or moving to Europe. Woman 2: Try Germany! They're good at processing.
Oh yeah baby!
Less than one in five Americans voted for the winning ‘jerk’. Turned off by noisy jerks (like me & you), 100 million eligible voters didn’t vote at all.
C’mon Ted. The consequences of your actions (and mine) are not to be washed away with snarky rhetorical jibes.
The people desperately need a way to connect with the reality of our self-governance. You play the gleeful anti-establishment satirist so well, why not turn your talents to something worthwhile- like inspiring people to get involved (or at least vote).
There ain’t never gonna be a candidate we can trust. Trust in government is for children and fools. Trust your talents to lead the people to the barricades- or to the ballot box. The only other choices are surrender or assimilation.
