2009: Obama says U.S. will withdraw from Afghanistan. (Barack Obama: I will bring this war to a successful conclusion.) 2010: Obama says withdrawal on schedule for 2011. (Barack Obama: We're confident.) 2011: Obama says all troops will be out by late 2012. (Barack Obama: America, it is time to focus on nation building here at home.) 2012: Obama signs secret agreement keeping troops there until at least 2024. Dec. 28, 2014: U.S. leads official end of war ceremony in Kabul. (Barack Obama: It's time for Afghans to take the lead.) 2015: Obama to spend more troops at least through 2017. (Barack Obama: Whoever set up that ceremony should die.) (Man: And now we have enough troops to kill him!)
Exactly what is the strategic value of Afghanistan? What are we doing there? Why are we there?
Imagine if we had used that money to truly defend, protect and advance our own citizens and country. This century of destruction continues.
