If you’re going to invade someone’s territory, own it. It’s one thing to be a bully, but another to be a cowardly bully. It’s not like we’re wondering who’s army invaded. They’re speaking Russian. That kind of narrows it down.

@CCNJ's say the sky is falling

@CCNJ I believe you should rephrase and write " we started a war and invaded to steal from the country" whereas Russia is taking back Crimea that used to be theirs.

You’re absolutely right. The US didn’t want to steal anything from Iraq (except for some antique Sumerian, Babylonian, and similar old junk that wasn’t worth anything).

Of course, oil had dropped to $30 a barrel, and, after disrupting the Iraqi oil supply, the price rose to almost $150, so those members of the US executive branch who had vast oil holdings earned an honest dollar for their hard work liberating Iraq from the monster Saddam and then handing him over to a lynch mob. No one can deny that Saddam was a horrible butcher. Why, just by being President of Iraq, Saddam forced the US and EU to cut off food and medicine to Iraq so 500,000 children died, and no one but Saddam was to blame for their deaths. So the US was fully justified in liberating Iraq. Not to mention that Saddam had a new nuclear arsenal that only very clever people can see. The fact that no one who was not clever could see Saddam’s new arsenal does not diminish the justification the Coalition had for invading Iraq.

The Crimea was part of the Socialist Republic of Russia until 1954.

The majority of the residents of the Crimea are Russian-speaking Russian Orthodox, and many would prefer to be, once again, part of Russia, rather than what they see as the future of the Ukraine, a future run by Western Ukrainians from the formerly Austrian Empire part of the Ukraine, and trying to achieve the wealth seen by such EU countries as Greece, where the leadership is very well rewarded for supporting the Western banks and engineering companies, but the peasants are starving.

“tickle”? there have been shots fired over head. But if you speak the same language and the guys who take over keep the trains running on time, what is a few billion $ bill? I bet the USA will be happy to chip in a Billion or so.

While reading the first two panels of Ted’s latest offering, I almost thought that Ted was actually saying something important and meaningful. Then, I read the third and forth panels. Assessment? Same ol’ Ted crud.

Crimea is part of Ukraine. Russia agreed to this over twenty years ago. Russia’s acts now violate international law and the Budapest Accord.

Well then, you go tell Putin. I assure you That Obama, Kerry and Hillary have not a clue. They keep talking about being stuck in the 19th this and reset that, and Kerry watching Rocky movies and what not. Those three did not and still not have a clue!
