Actually, people on the Gold Coast, aka Washington DC, have done great over the past 4 years as long as they work for the government. While family incomes were dropping, they only dealt with a slightly smaller raise each year.

O has put the BIG back into Big Government.

    @ConserveGov

LOL, wrong, wrong and wrong. I LOVE you guys when you make flat statements.
Here ya go, straight from the source.

    and wrong again!

    http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?g=gwv

Rather clearly, govt employment on both state and federal levels is dropping, total private employment has sharply increased since 2010. And, just to check on the income bit:

    http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/graph/?g=gww

So, to recap, “O” shrank government employment, the states shrank state government employment, and the private sector has actually had wage increases.

And, I might add, all the wage increases wound up at the CEO level. Which is a problem with wage distribution, and that means either regulation or redistribution, and THAT’S why Republicans are running about with incorrect statements. If you get told the truth, you’ll have to turn to the dark side or say “CEO’s should get it all and we should get crumbs from their holy plates”, which isn’t exactly the American ideal, is it? It’s not exactly that whole “proud, free and independant” thing is it?

It’s not a zero sum game, Ted. I am not part of the 1% and my income has risen every year and my retirement has doubled, and my savings has gone up 10 fold. Generic statements about 1% and 99% from ‘09 to ’11 just doesn’t make sense. What you are really saying is that O’s policies fail for the people that voted for ‘hope and change’, they just didn’t realize that O’s ‘hope and change’ was to destroy America from within.
How’s that revolution going for you?

What? With the euro and pound being high, it’s cheaper for Europeans to fly to America for ‘holiday’ than stay in Europe. How do I know? I’ve heard it from their own mouths. But then again, libs generalize for their own conclusions.

Perhaps you should temper the tone of your comment a little. If you go to the U. S. Office of Personnel Management, you can get the raw numbers. I found that civilian employment was only reduced 5,958 personnel during 2012.

    Other raw numbers:
    • 2009 increased 82,000
    • 2010 increased 2,000
    • 2011 decreased 20,000

Perhaps the graphs you are referencing include military personnel. They are classed as government employees, too, and may be included in your graphs.

Your personal experience doesn’t matter. You may not be in the “1%”, but your bragging makes it obvious you are doing fine. Good for you.

    Care to address Rall’s facts?
